Recumbent Exercise Bike

By Adam Leave a Comment

Time and weather are just two of the factors that hinder a person to go the gym or to workout. Lot of us are busy with no time to go the gym.  It is also for this the same reason that a lot of people  invest in home exercise equipment like the recumbent exercise bike.

The recumbent exercise bike is one of the most widely used home exercise equipment nowadays. This is preferred by a lot of people because unlike the upright bikes, this one allows the user to lean back, relax and stretch his legs outward while working out. It is also very comfortable and it gives great benefits without enduring too much pain that a lot of us could get from doing strenuous exercise. The recumbent exercise bike doesn’t strain the abdominal muscles so there is no need for you to worry about catching your breath. This machine is perfect for those who want to enhance their cardiovascular wellness routine.

There are also a lot of benefits that one can get from pedaling 30 to 60 minutes on a recumbent exercise bike. Here are some:

  • Increase cardiovascular conditioning.
  • Burn body fat. Spending almost an hour on the bike can actually help you burn almost 1000 calories. It also doesn’t depend on how fast you pedal on the bike but on how long you can keep pedaling. The slower you go on the bike, the more fat you will be able to burn.
  • Strengthen the glutes, the hamstrings, the quads, the hip flexors, and the calves.

Another good thing about the recumbent exercise bike is that it comes with a very comfortable bucket seat that makes it very convenient for a lot of overweight individuals. It also doesn’t give a strong impact on the joints since your feet are on the same level as your body. It also keeps the body well balanced and it can be used by both men and women for fitness purposes.

Most of these machines offer a lot of programs that you can choose from. You can have the manual, heart rate, fitness, and speed.  These programs can help you in your cardiovascular and fitness goals. If you are a little overweight and you need to condition yourself, you can do so on the recumbent exercise bike. A lot of us are easily discouraged when it comes to physical exercises because of the pain that we all have to endure. But such fitness equipment can be quite effective in giving you a good workout anytime and every time.
